Lamb Stew (Žgvacet)



Ingredients

  • 1 kg lamb
  • 500 g onions
  • 2 carrots
  • laurel leaves
  • rosemary
  • wild thyme
  • 200 ml red wine
  • 200-300 ml pre-made tomato sauce
  • 2 tsp sweet paprika
  • salt, pepper
  • 200 ml olive oil

Preparation

Combine finely chopped onions, diced meat, and dried spices in a bowl.

Heat the olive oil, then add the meat and stew gently to the desired doneness, all the while lightly basting the meat with lamb bone broth.

When the meat has softened, add the sauce and wine and let simmer for a while longer.

Serving

Serve the lamb stew with homemade Šurlice pasta and cream cheese.
